The General Secretariat serves as the administrative arm of the Conference, without any decision making authority for the Conference, not even delegated. He is responsible for recording minutes of and preparing documents for Plenary and other meetings. The office of the Secretariat will provide official notices and other timely communications, both with members and other ecclesiastical individuals and agencies. The General Secretariat may attend meetings of Antilles Episcopal Conference Commissions. Likewise, the Secretariat cares for the Archives of the Conference (cf. can. 458, 1).

Fr. Donald Dean Chambers – General Secretary

Fr. Donald Dean Chambers is a Diocesan Priest from the Archdiocese of Kingston, Jamaica, celebrating priesthood for 27 years. Formerly the parish priest of Sts. Peter and Paul, Kingston, Jamaica. Currently, he is the General Secretary for the Antilles Episcopal Conference. Prior to this, he held many roles such as the National Director for Pontifical Mission Societies, Vocation/Formation Director for the Archdiocese of Kingston and Director of Priestly Formation and Pre-Seminary Programme, just to name a few. Fr. Donald has a genuine dedication and passion for the development of theology and continues to play a significant role in the Caribbean Theology Today Conference and has published a book titled ‘Transformed by the Deep: Reflections of a Caribbean Priest’. Besides enjoying his priestly responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, fitness and catching up on a good book or the news.
